Tagima
The reunion between Tagima and Marutec happened in 1996. Tagima was already a well-known brand at the time in the musician’s underground culture and Marutec was also an important company of musical equipments and electronics importation known for its strength and rapid growth. Anticipating huge success, Marutec Music committed itself into bring a new personality to the Tagima brand with an extensive new factory with products and expanded areas to meet the growing market demands. And so, the major investments began. Marutec Music acquired the rights to use the Tagima trademark in 1996 and in that same year the whole process of building Tagima at a national level was initiated. The brand started to attend and exhibit at major international fairs such as MusikMesse Frankfurt (Germany) and the NAMM Show in Los Angeles. The product series Memphis by Tagima was released with new models of basses, guitars and acoustic guitars. The Guitar Institute of Technology (IG&T) agreed to use Tagima instruments in their classes, bringing in more brand recognition. Tagima’s presence at the annual Musical Instruments exhibition - Expomusic in São Paulo is awaited by hundreds of retailers and thousands of young consumers, certain that they will be introduced to the very best in the world of instruments as well as having the opportunity to do “test drives” on the spot with all manufactured models, and also attend workshops and live concerts of Brazil’s best instrumentalists - endorsees Tagima Dream Team.
